Question: What is the biggest disease/sickness killing these kids?

From what I have read, the biggest problem is malnutrition. Most children dont get the required amount of nutrition they should, weekly, or daily.

Are the Danfur camps safe from attacks?

Nearly 1.9 million people live in more than 100 camps in Sudan, and tens of thousands have died in the Darfur conflict, which broke out in early 2003 when African rebel groups attacked police and military posts. The U.N. accuses the Arab-led government of supporting militias and bombing villages to crush the rebellion.

When asked whether it was safe in Darfur, she shook her head. When he asked whether it was safe in the camp, where an aid group is training 90 women to make and sell pasta, she said it was still dangerous at night.

"All Darfur is now a camp, because there is insecurity all over Darfur,"

Why are so many chldren dying at the refugee camps?

So many children are dying because the food supply is very low along with the water supply and the children have been exposed to diseases that are killing them off

I believe that other countries' governments should intervene more, rather than sending our troops to Iraq, Darfur should be given military aid. Not helping these people will result in the extermination of millions and millions of people.

When I Saw The Video About The Refugee Camp, I Felt Really Sad For The People Living In There. It Must be Really Hard To Live There With So Many People and Not So Many Food For Everybody. Seeing The Video In Class I Asked Myself a Question But There Isnt An Answer To It:"Where Will The People Go From There"?

I feel bad for the people in Darfur. they shouldnt have to go through this. i believe the people there are really strong because if it was me in that position i dont think i could survive. I eat and waste food anytime i please i throw away clothing... and there they are starving and struggling. Liek the man said on the video, "We should feel lucky that we grew up in place that this wouldnt happen to us." I hope for the best for these people.

I feel that the whole world should try to help Sudan. The U.S. governemnt and other governments should give the U.N. some of their state of the art military equipment (airplanes, helicopters, vehicles, etc.) and also with some soldiers.

After watching the video, i think more people should get involved in helping people who aren't as lucky as we are.

The fact that the government and almost every adult says "CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE", why is it that only but a few are taking action to help the children and adults who are suffering. Instead of the government wasting money on what we dont need, they should give the money to the people who really need it.

I think that whats going on in Darfur is just plainly awful. The government should be doing everything they possibly can be doing to help out those poor people.

I think that the United States citizens invest alot of money givi ng to organizations that help the people should all come together and make a place were they are abel to go and get the food at any time and also make the food there. i think it would give them food and a job..even though they may not have money.

Is anyone trying to stop the fighting?

About 7,000 African Union troops are deployed in Darfur on a very limited mandate.

What is the US and other countries doing to intervene?

The EU (European Union) has sent in troops (http://flickr.com/photos/21225024@N05/2238684681/) into Chad and into the camps for protection and stability of the area, due to Chad's raising violence and the refugee camps in Chad as well. The US has sent in military aid as well. (http://flickr.com/photos/21225024@N05/2243511886/)
Chad is rapidly becoming a hot zone for violence and its the outside countries that are helping in some way. Primarily Military aide and intervention.

How long can the population of people in Sudan go without eating?

From what I read the longest the Sudan population go without eating is mostly a month I would imagine how it would feel to even go through that experience this is very sad and unfair also this goes for water.

From what i read, who is killing these poeple are what they call "Arabs". There is no real explanation why they are killing what the Arabs call "Black" people. Soon we will find out.

I have watched the video and i feel terrible that this is happening to Darfur. I feel that the media has to stop showing unimportant stuff like britney spears shaving her head but focus on the real issues and maybe then people would realize what is going on and step in to help.

I believe safe home is a bad idea because nobody has the right to search you home. Cops should only be able to search your house if they have a warrant. it's not up to the parents to tell the cops to search your room, because we all need our privacy.
When a teen turns 17 he becomes an adult and they need their privacy, because we all have things we hide from our parents. How will the relationship of the parent towards the teen change, will he be kicked out or sent away, nobody will know the side effects.
Dianne Wilkerson believes safe home is a bad idea because she believes the government should go straight to the sources rather then teens. Deputy Gary French supports safe home because he wants to stop all the killikng between teens, he wants to make communities safer for everbody.
I'm against safe home.
